At the foundations of Core is a belief that buildings are inspirational, essential objects that transform the world around us. We were therefore thrilled to be chosen to run the BDI Industry & Genius Awards: a quest to discover the regions most innovative examples of environmental, building and product design.

In 2007 we celebrated our third time of organising the awards and following an intensive programme of profile raising, brochure design and collating entries, we created a glistening final ceremony at the IMAX in Millenium Point.

The ceremony was hosted by Tony Robinson, of Blackadder fame and presenter of Channel 4’s Time Team, while the proud winners were presented with specially commissioned commemorative trophies designed by renowned Midlands’ sculptor, Tim Tolkien. Star struck by Baldrick and inspired by the eclectic creations, guests looked on as we unearthed the treasures of the industry.
