Destination marketing - Taste

It’s that time again… Core gets ready for a weekend of indulgence and culinary delight at Taste of Birmingham this July.

With the ‘staycation’ now very much in vogue this summer, one event we feel simply cannot be missed whilst taking a break in the Midlands is Taste of Birmingham.

Taste of Birmingham, or ‘Taste’ as it is more fondly known, returns once again to Cannon Hill Park from the 16th-18th July. If you are as fond of your food and drink as we are, then this is the perfect event for you!

Now in its fifth year, Taste is set to attract more visitors than ever – pretty impressive considering last year’s event pulled in over 250,000 people, boosting the city’s economy by a whopping £6million.

Notoriously known as one of the best international food fairs in the country, Taste offers guests the opportunity to sample some of the finest cuisine from 16 of the region’s top restaurants, including Core clients, Opus restaurant with its market fresh, seasonal menu on offer, new Brindleyplace lounge bar Nuvo and another Brindleyplace favourite, Mediterranean restaurant Cielo.

Other activities during the three day event feature a series of demonstrations and master classes taken by a wide array of gastronomic stars, such as Opus chef director David Colcombe and Edmunds chef Andy Waters – the perfect opportunity for those of us that are less than domestic goddesses to learn a trick or two!

If that’s still not enough to get your taste buds sizzling then how does a little wonder around the local produce market with a spot of live music playing in the background sound? The produce market gives visitors the perfect chance to pick up a few of their favourite drinks and nibbles – we particularly loved the Summer Pimms last year.

With members of the Core team having thoroughly enjoyed Taste of Birmingham and its spin off Taste of Business in previous years, I think it’s safe to say that this is one event we are all very excited about, particularly with the recent fantastic weather.

We want to hear your views on Taste of Birmingham. Whether you’re going this year or whether you’ve been in the past, why not leave us a comment?
