Birmingham Science Park Aston reports encouraging occupancy rate across the campus
Birmingham Science Park Aston (BSPA) has seen an encouraging growth in occupancy over the last three months, with 14 new lettings across the campus.
Faraday Wharf – the Park’s flagship building and home to BSPA’s Entrepreneurs for the Future (e4f) business incubator – is now over 95 per cent let, with only a small number of office suites and desks remaining.
Extending across six flexible buildings, the BSPA campus provides a range of different accommodation options, suitable for companies ranging from just a single person, to those requiring a suite of offices.
Philip Lines, Chief Operating Officer, Birmingham Science Park Aston, said: “We have recently seen a very positive number of lettings across the campus, particularly at Faraday Wharf, Ashted Lock, Priestley Wharf and Holt Court. Our ability to offer companies larger facilities as they grow allows them to continue to benefit from the Park’s resources while extending their service offering to accommodate specific business requirements.
“We are continually looking to extend the property offer at BSPA in order to fully encompass the role of the incubator and innovation centre and are creating new ventures while providing a flexible, highly connected and collaborative culture to assist in the development and growth of high-tech companies.”
Alongside the new lettings, a number of existing tenants have also expanded their space at the Park. Digital marketing company Kalexiko has made its third expansion since moving to BSPA in 2010, doubling its space to 675 sq ft.
Medical company Enhanced Healthcare has also taken up an additional suite, while Mymedpharma Ltd – which supplies pharmaceutical products – has more than doubled its presence, occupying a total of 937 sq ft of office space within the Park.
Philppa Pickavance, Head of Agency for Drivers Jonas Deloitte’s Birmingham office, which represents several properties on the campus, said: “Birmingham Science Park Aston represents a phenomenally diverse range of different real-estate options. BSPA’s urban location close to Birmingham city centre and with an almost direct connection to the UK motorway network is pivotal to its success, acting as a focal point for creativity across a range of business sectors within Birmingham.
“The first six months of 2011 have demonstrated a very positive up-swing in occupancy across the site, bolstered by the expansion of our existing occupiers, which demonstrates their continued success across their markets.”
Alongside the physical buildings located on the campus, BSPA also offers virtual offices for smaller businesses, allowing companies that do not have a permanent physical presence at the Park to benefit from their various business support packages and regular networking evenings and events.
