Third of adults use smartphones says Ofcom report
With everyone’s smartphone permanently attached to their hand, an Ofcom survey has proved – if it wasn’t obvious already – that the nation is addicted.
As technology is forever increasing, our clients are paying more and more attention to how it can benefit their business.
Websites which are uniquely created to maximise a company’s interests are key in today’s business world and are further strengthened through social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, which are also becoming more popular. There has been an increase in our clients asking for their news stories to also be released on their own website and Facebook page.
As reports state that there has been an increased uptake of smartphones, businesses are also becoming interested in creating Apps that clients can download. These Apps have the potential to be very successful, as a third of UK adults use a smartphone and can access information on the go.
With such a high percentage of adults using smartphones, there has been a dramatic rise in mobile internet use. Facebook is the most visited website, with 43 million hours spent on it in December 2010. Sending and receiving emails proved to be the most popular tasks untaken by adults on their smartphone; essential in the business industry. 37% of adults taking part in the Ofcom survey confessed to be obsessed with their smartphone.
