Core cakes ‘raise’ £350 for Macmillan Cancer Support

We’re rightly quite pleased at Core Towers this week, having held our third – and most successful – fundraising effort for Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday, with colleagues, friends and peckish neighbours helping us to raise over £350!

Demonstrating their talents in the kitchen, the Core team baked up a storm, creating a series of delicious treats that provided something to tempt every pallet: from studio manager Richard Clews’ creation ‘The Rock’ (we don’t know either, but it had Marshmallows in it), to freshly made scones with jam and a darkly rich and tempting chocolate cake.

Just to make things interesting, Argent’s Ian Clark was on-hand to perform the all-important taste test, crowning Nikki Marsden as the overall winner for her sumptuous creation.

Having cleared last year’s target by £100, the bar has been officially raised for next year, with some ovens already preheating in anticipation…

We would like to send heartfelt and sincere thanks to everyone who turned up on the day and contributed towards our total!
