Appointments mark strong start to 2017 for Richborough Estates

Birmingham-based strategic land promoter, Richborough Estates has started 2017 strongly with two new appointments and the promotion of an existing member of the team.

Russell Crow has joined Richborough Estates from the Birmingham office of planning consultants Barton Willmore, taking up the role of Planning Director. Russell’s appointment follows that of Haydn Jones in 2016 from Pegasus Planning.

Alongside Russell, Richborough has also appointed Harry Jackson as a Land Study Manager to identify and secure new development sites. Having formerly worked at Stoneleigh Homes, Harry’s experience of the construction sector reinforces the existing breadth of understanding and knowledge within the team.

These appointments highlight the continued growth of the company as it takes on more projects, taking land through the planning process and ultimately bringing it to the market for residential development.

This growth has been spurred on partly in response to wider economic conditions and the lack of supply within the housing market, as well as the strength of Richborough Estates and its approach to site acquisition and disposal.

Karl Parkinson-Witte, Joint-Managing Director of Richborough Estates, said: “This is going to be a very exciting year for us and these appointments are just the beginning.

“At a time when house building is of the highest priority for local authorities and central government, we are responding my delivering ever more planning consents for residential schemes.”

The company has also promoted existing team member Hannah Watson to Land and Planning Manager after her successful completion of a Masters in Urban Planning.

Karl continued, “As we grow it is important that we are not just bringing in new talent from outside the business but also strengthening our existing team. Hannah’s promotion is part of this and we look forward to seeing her continue to grow in her new role.”
