A developing story
Longbridge
A place with history
Longbridge is one of the largest and most significant regeneration schemes in the UK, a long-term £1 billion initiative to breathe new life into one of Britain’s most famous industrial areas. We’ve had the privilege of promoting and documenting its transition from car factory to thriving community.
Informing the future
The key to our work has been to use the site’s incredible history of innovation as the springboard for a bold and confident new identity, a collaboration with Hemingway Design. The way it looks, speaks and functions are all borne from this ethos.
As an example of our dedication to honouring the past, the brand’s colour palette is inspired by British Motor Corporation paint codes. So the colours you see on the website echo those that would have rolled off the Longbridge production line in the 1960s.
Designing for digital
Of course, no brand is complete without a strong online presence, and we were determined that Longbridge’s would be up there with the very best in class – both in terms of design and content.
User experience is paramount in enabling smooth navigation around such a content-heavy website. Our clean and contemporary website is based around simple, intuitive wayfinding to help users find what they’re looking for, quickly and easily.
The story continues
The regeneration of Longbridge is a long-term project that requires constant communication, so we continue to support the brand with engaging content for its digital channels.
A sign of things to come
The brand also needed to translate well into a physical environment, with on-site signage and promotional materials used extensively to create interest and excitement in happenings at the scheme.
Through our work, Longbridge has sprung into life once more as the heart of a thriving community, giving local residents a sense of pride not seen since the heyday of ‘The Austin’.
